A little bit about the author:
Road trips with her dad—to and from Bible studies across Indiana—were filled with talks of things beyond earth’s bounds – creation and the fall, God and Jesus and the rapture, the earthly walk compared to the spiritual walk, and how we are born for more than what we can see or touch.
The highlight of those nights was stopping at a truck stop in the middle of the night where her dad would spend a little of the offering basket on two slices of pie and a couple of Cokes. Nothing ever felt so special as a middle of the night slice of pie with her dad. And nothing could stop the writing pouring out of her.
As Jamie’s relationship with God grew, she discovered her heart was filled with songs and poetry. During high school she wrote lyrics for her brother’s band. (And she sang them too!) After college, Jamie married, had two sons and decided to stay home with them. While she homeschooled she wrote skits, poems, plays and short stories for school and church.
When her eldest son turned five she dove into the world of novels. She’d read romance novels for years, but couldn’t relate to the flawless, saintly heroines in Christian romance novels. So she decided to write her own.
Snow Angel was born on a frosty night in an old farmhouse in Fishers, Indiana, where the cold floor gave plenty of motivation for the snow scene. Jamie loves to write late at night when the house is quiet and the darkness seems alive. Elizabeth and Noah had been playacting in herhead for a long time, so the story went fast.
Ten years later Snow Angel was published and won the ForeWord magazine Romance Book of the Year winner, was a National “Best Books 2007” Awards winner, and a 2008 RITA Awards® Best First Book finalist. It was the beginning of her dream career.
Jamie and her husband Tony have been married for twenty-one years and live in Indianapolis with their three sons and a giant of a dog named Leo.
If she could only say one thing to her readers it would be, “Live the dreams God has destined you for!”

The Sign of the Twisted Candles
This is my favorite Nancy Drew book so I decided to review it. Nancy Drew is asked by her friends to investigate a certain family run restaurant. When she finds an old man, virtually held prisoner by two of his relatives she decides to help him. By doing so she unearths an old family feud and it seems that her best friends, Bess and George will not be her friends any more. When the old man dies, Mr. Drew is called to act as his executor. Faced by the growing hostility of both sides of the family and threatened by the owners of the restaurant, will Nancy and her father be able to untangle the many problems they are confronted with?

In this first Lady Grace Mystery Series, Lady Grace, Maid of Honour to Queen Elizabeth I, has three suitors for her hand that are chosen by the Queen. The second is Sir Gerald who is handsome, rich, and not too old, but very sure of himself. The third is Sir Robert who is slightly older than Grace (she is 16), is in debt but is nice to Grace.
On the night after the ball, Sir Gerald is found stabbed in the back, and Sir Robert is suspected. Lady Grace must sort through dead ends and false clues with her good friends Masou, a boy acrobat at court, and Ellie, a laundry girl, to get to the truth of the matter. Written in diary style, this book is very exciting for anyone to read.
A Cat With No Clue: An Alice Nestleton Mystery by Lydia Adamson
Posted by pennpaper52 in Books on 2011/07/23
The book starts with has-been actress Alice Nestleton visiting her friends Alex and Lila. Both of them are in their 80′s, were once famous theatrical personalities, but now own a restaurant called Red Witch. The restaurant was started in fact as a way for actors and other creative persons to come and share a meal, talk about their dreams, their failures etc. In short it was an actor’s hub. Lila introduces Alice to her new additions to the family, two tabby kittens. After staying a while, Alice takes her leave, but on the spur of a moment comes up with a brilliant anniversary plan. All the guests were forbidden to bring any gifts, but the gift Alice had in mind would be perfect. The first meal the two had eaten together, the meal that brought the spark of Love in their life. Alice dashes off to her friend Nora’s restaurant and orders the very unusual meal – mushrooms fried in butter and topped with sour cream, flank steak with onions and tapioca pudding, She gets a call from Lila thanking her profusely for the gesture and Alice goes to sleep happy. Things however turn tragic when exactly 12 hrs to the dot from the last call, she is informed that Lila is dead and Alex will die soon. Apparently the last meal, indeed became their last meal and Alice becomes the number one suspect in the murder investigation. Did Alice off her closest friends? Did Nora have a hand in it? Read the book to find out…
